So Morrell Maison has turned up at Chester City, not someone that Chester’s City Fans United seem too keen on
But let’s set aside the litany of problems that he created at Halesowen, including a lengthy ban for hitting winger Dean Brennan, failure to pay football debts leading to the Club being banned from the FA Cup and FA Trophy, or indeed the fact that the Club ended up in administration with six figure debts on his watch.
But Maison was appointed reportedly by Stephen Vaughan Snr. Not Vaughan Jnr, who on paper owns the Club and who was ‘bailed out’ by, you’ve guessed it, Vaughan Snr, to the tune of nearly £40k recently to allow the club to continue to compete in the Conference National.
So whilst it’s now patently obvious that the authorities have opted to allow Chester City to drag itself through the season, this is made doubly worse by the fact that Vaughan Snr, banned as a director outside of football, and therefore banned within football seems to be making decisions like employing Morrell Maison.
